This
queen-sized quilt was made by Dawn Valanos-Moser, a long-arm quilter, to raise money and
awareness for local hospice foundations.
All funds received will be placed into that Hospice's patient assistance fund.
These monies are used for items not covered by Medicare or insurances. For
example, this could include respite stays at approved Adult Care homes which
have specific Hospice training, assistance with utility bills in patient's
homes, and/or other personal patient needs as determined by each Provider.
Each Hospice will have the quilt for a one month period so that they can display
it and to offer the public the opportunity to own the quilt. A photo poster of
the quilt has been provided to each Hospice so that they can market the quilt
during the entire four month period which begins on May 1st, 2008.
The price of opportunity tickets will be the same for each Hospice. Tickets will
be $1.00 each, 5 for $7.00, or 15 for $10.00.
The winner of the quilt will be determined by a drawing to be held on September
4th, 2008.
The Hospices are encouraged to utilize this quilt as a means of making the
public more aware of the mission of Hospice and their specific services.
